How does NT Labs AxoCure benefit my sick axolotl?

Axolotl diseases often present a wide variety of symptoms. Typically, external parasitic infections will display symptoms of excess mucus secretion; blisters, sores or lesions of the skin, loss of colour and patchiness of the skin; peeling, shedding or chalky skin; scratching or rubbing. These symptoms are often caused by poor water quality, so make sure to always test your water with a test kit.

AxoCure successfully treats many types of axolotl infections, including those caused by poor water quality, or ones that cause your axolotl to experience the symptoms listed above. The health of your pet is a very important thing to ensure they have a long, happy life, and treating a sick axolotl with AxoCure is crucial to keeping them healthy.

How do I use NT Labs AxoCure?

  • Test the aquarium water to ensure the issues your axolotl is facing are not caused by poor water quality
  • Use a quarantine aquarium, or a clean container that is the appropriate size for your axolotl, making sure there are enough holes in the lid to allow airflow
  • Fill the container or quarantine aquarium with aquarium water, and accurately measure the volume
  • Dose 5ml per litre of water in the bath with AxoCure and mix thoroughly
  • Remove your axolotl from the aquarium using a fine net or scoop it our using a container. Limit the amount of aquarium water that your transfer with the axolotl
  • Place the Axolotl in the bath and leave it for 8 hours in a cool, dark place with the lid on
  • While treating in the bath, perform a water change on the aquarium
  • Axolotls should be checked hourly to monitor for stress
  • Once complete, place your axolotl back in the aquarium using a fine net, or scoop it out using a container. Limit the amount of bath water you transfer with the axolotl
  • If symptoms persist after two weeks, retreat the axolotl using these steps for two consecutive days
