The TMC Filter Socks offers fine mechanical filtration within aquarium sumps and filters. These filter bags are great for polishing off aquarium water that contains fine debris, such as excess food, and even microbubbles as well as other undesirable substances within sump filters. These organic wastes can become a large problem within an aquarium and lead to poor fish health over time as they increase ammonia levels.
Filter socks will degrade over time, just like media in other filters, and will need to be changed occasionally to ensure they are working at their best. These socks are 4 inches in diameter, giving them a large surface area and enough space to fit into most sump filters.
