Product Description
Gold Label Black Pond Paint is a water based pond paint from the makers of the very popular Gold Label Underwater Sealant. There is no need for a primer and unlike other paints Gold Label Pond Paint only requires 2 coats (on a smooth surface). The 2 supplied components need to be combined and thoroughly mixed for 2 minutes. The paint can then be applied using a brush, roller or spray. The surface of your pond need not be completely dry as it can be applied over ‘damp’ surfaces. Gold Label Pond Paint has a coverage of 6-8 m² per litre per coat on non-porous smooth surfaces. Because the paint is water based it is much easier to clean up after yourself than resin based paints. The second coat of Gold Label Pond Paint can be applied when the first is touch dry (approx 6-8 hours at 20°C) so it is possible, given the correct conditions to get both layers on in one day. Gold Label Clear Pond cures in 12 hours and is fully cured in 3-7 days depending on atmospheric conditions.
Gold Label Pond Paint Application Note
Please remember to prepare you surface to be painted and fill any cracks (using iFill or iSeal) before painting. If you are building a new concrete pond, a waterproofing additive (iProof) should be added to the concrete during construction and add 10% more water to the first coat for surface penetration. For optimum results Gold Label Pond Paint should be applied with a paint roller.
IMPORTANT
To ensure correct drying this pond paint should be applied when it is dry and the air and surface temperature is at least 10 Deg C and less than 25 Deg C and will remain within that range for a FULL 24 hours. This product will take 3 - 7 days to fully cure before rinsing and filling with water.
Paint Preparation
The paint is a 2 part mixture with the hardener contained in a separate section of the paint tin (or separate container) and has a mixing ratio of 4 - 1.
Surface Applications
Gold Label Pond Paint is a universal water based epoxy resin coating which is suitable for concrete, tiles, blocks, fibreglass, brick and plastic.
